Mr. Rockpalast Peter Rüchel. Zum ersten Mal auch auf CD!

1980 war Jack Bruce das erste Mal zu Gast – anlässlich der in vielen europäischen Länder via Eurovision Live ausgestrahlten 7. Rockpalast Rocknacht. Seine Formation hieß Jack Bruce & Friends. Dahinter verbarg sich niemand geringerer als Billy Cobham (Miles Davis, Stanley Clarke) am Schlagzeug, Clem Clempson (Humble Pie, Colosseum) an der Gitarre und David Sancious (Bruce Springsteen, Santana, Eric Clapton, Sting) an Keyboard und Gitarre. Es ist faszinierend zu erleben, mit welchem blinden Verständnis sich vier gleichberichtigte Ausnahme-Musiker auf der Bühne bewegen.

Als Jack Bruce And Band wurde im Jahr 1983 in der Bochumer Zeche ein weiteres Konzert vom WDR aufgezeichnet. Diesmal erneut mit David Sancious und Bruce Gary an den Drums. Bruce Gary war Mitglied der US-New Wave Band THE KNACK und trommelte live und in den Studios u.a. für George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Stephen Stills und Dr. John.

Komplett wird dieses Boxset mit dem Solokonzert von 1990 in der Live Music Hall in Köln.

Das Rockpalast Vermächtnis eines einmaligen Künstlers, dessen Todestag sich 2019 zum fünften Mal jährt.
