Beginning of April 2017 the Irish folk legend Gerry O’Connor (The Dubliners / The Dublin Legends) and the Mystic Folk formation Fairytale will play several concerts in German cities.

The Dubliners, or these days rather The Dublin Legends, are one of the most successful Irish folk bands ever. But Gerry O’Connor is not only active with them. His four string banjo playing is especially innovative, experimenting with everything from Irish to bluegrass to African and Asian, and back to Irish, which has brought him a lot of studio jobs and acclaim. Several critics consider him to be single best on this instrument. He worked with Waterboys, Mary Black, Arcady, Moya Brennan (Clannad), Luka Bloom and was a guest on Chris Rea’s Album “Dancing down the Stoney Road”. He took part in Michael Flatleys “Lord of the Dance“ soundtrack and performed for US president Bill Clinton when he visited Belfast.

In 2018 the amazing banjo virtuoso will present his new solo project with the Hanover label Magic Mile Music. Together with his son Fiach O’Connor and Capercaillie guitarist Manus Lunny they are preparing a unique production which will surely not only gain the attention of Irish music fans. As a first taste of the new album the band will present a couple of new tunes during the April dates.

O’Connor will be supported by mystic folk band Fairytale. In 2015, the group from Hanover had toured with the Dublin Legends in sold out locations all over Germany. For the shows has an elaborate stage program been developed. The mystical folk music together with stage settings made with love for detail will take the audience away into another world. and if you do not want to wait so long: On February 24th Fairytale will support Moya Brennan at the Pavillon in Hannover

Fans of Irish music and intoxicating folk are to expect a double concert evening with two extraordinary artists that harmonize perfectly in this constellation.
